A New York appeals court has upheld the dismissal of a $650m (£410m) lawsuit against the Formula One chief executive, Bernie Ecclestone, saying he cannot be sued in the states courts over the sale of a major stake in the motor racing business.
In a 2012 suit, the investment firm Bluewaters Communications accused Ecclestone, now 84, of giving a $45m bribe to a German banker in 2006 to secure the deal for the private equity firm CVC Capital Partners.
