#F1Chat Preview – the Chinese Grand Prix
Another win for Lewis Hamilton and another race for us to discuss… Here’s what’s coming up on tomorrow evening’s #F1Chat… Hamilton’s third win in a row was dominant, meanwhile, Nico Rosberg’s troubled start and telemetry problems didn’t stop him from securing a hat-trick of 1-2′s for Mercedes – thoughts on the team’s weekend? Red Bull have played down talk that there is tension with Sebastian Vettel after he ignored team orders – he questioned Daniel Ricciardo’s strategy and replied with “tough luck” when the team told him they were on the same tyres. Firstly, what did you think of what was said during the race? Christian Horner said it was normal for someone as competitive as Vettel to ignore team orders. Thoughts on what he had to say? He also said the time caught behind Vettel didn’t cost Ricciardo time and the opportunity to overtake Fernando Alonso – do you agree or could he have caught him? Talking of Alonso, he said after the race he doesn’t think his podium signals a breakthrough for Ferrari. Thoughts? Did Alonso get more out of the car than he realistically should have? Thoughts on Ferrari’s race weekend? Kimi Raikkonen finished eighth. Felipe Massa’s disastrous first pitstop which cost him a points-scoring position was down to the Williams team attempting to fit the rear wheels to the wrong side of the car. Rob Smedley said the reason for it was because the team do not have the correct processes in place to ensure mix ups with the tyres at the stops don’t happen. What did you make of what happened? What did you think of the incident into turn one where Massa made contact with Alonso? Jenson Button is concerned over McLaren’s lack of form after the team failed to score any points. Thoughts on what is going on? Do you see them improving with upgrades scheduled for Spain in three weeks? At the end of the race, there was a mix up with the chequered flag, which was waved a lap before it should have been. Hamilton kept going, but the race was cut to 54 laps instead of 56. This meant Kamui Kobayashi, who passed Jules Bianchi on lap 56, was relegated to 18th once the results were finalised. Thoughts on this? Finally, who was your driver of the day? Overtake of the race? In other news this week, there could be tweaks to the exhaust systems to improve engine noise. There will be a meeting on 6th May to decide what happens next – thoughts on this? Join us tomorrow at the usual time of 4pm Eastern US, 9pm UK. Follow @F1Chat for the questions and use the #F1Chat hashtag to answer the questions… As always, we look forward to talking tomorrow!
