The air of anticipation beside the Black Sea as Russia prepares for its first Formula One race this weekend has been muted by the awful accident that befell Jules Bianchi in Suzuka on Sunday.
As the Marussia driver remained in a critical condition in Japan, Richard Cregan, the consultant in charge of preparations for the race in Sochi, made no apology for talking about safety arrangements.
