An attempt by Caterhams team principal, Manfredi Ravetto, to assuage concerns over the future of his team after bailiffs seized items from their base in Leafield on Wednesday, seemed to leave some key questions still unanswered. There remains some confusion as to what has occurred over the past few days and where the team stands in terms of ownership and finances.

Bailiffs had published on their website a list of equipment they said had been seized from Leafield and intended to auction, including a test car, pit equipment and steering wheels. These claims were quickly denied in a statement from Caterham that claimed the items were from a supplier to 1MRT, the company that owns the Caterham F1 entry. The precise nature of the ownership of the team is unclear, as it was sold to an unidentified group of Swiss and Middle East investors by Tony Fernandes in July.
