Bernie Ecclestone, the Formula One chief executive, has said he does not want a repeat of his controversial scheme to award double points at the last race of the season.
The innovation, which could decide the world title between the Mercedes drivers Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg at the final race of the season next weekend in Abu Dhabi, was opposed by F1 personalities and fans from the moment it was announced last December.
