Jack Brabham, 3 time F1 world champion dies, aged 88

Australian three-time Formula 1 world champion Sir Jack Brabham, has died aged 88. Brabham famously winning the title in a car he built himself.

Brabham death was confirmed by his son, David, this morning after a long battle with liver disease. David said of his father, “He lived an incredible life, achieving more than anyone would ever dream of”.

Sir Jack Brabham is the only man in history to have designed, built and driven a F1 championship winning car. He raced on into his 40s and recording 14 wins - his last at the age of 43 in the South African Grand Prix in 1970.
